Guam Naval Officers’ Spouse Connection (“GNOSC”) is an organization that believes in helping both the military and local communities on
Our primary goal is to raise money for local charities with various fundraisers throughout the year and to have fun doing so. Please take the time to log on to our website, www.gnosc.org, which will always have a current list of events, meeting dates, contact names, and other useful information.
This past year, GNOSC raised over $15,000 which was distributed to 26 local charities. The Christmas Street Craft Fair, one of our major fundraisers of the year, will take place in November with all profits going to the annual Christmas Drop. This money will be used to purchase items that are then delivered by Air Force cargo planes to families on remote outer islands. Our largest event is the International Asian Bazaar held in the spring. GNOSC hosts off-island vendors who offer a variety of items including Balinese and Korean furniture, jewelry, rugs and more. In addition to these two big fundraisers we have added our Oktoberfest Auction. Recently GNOSC would like to explore options for a scholarship program with this additional fundraiser. These functions are a great place to volunteer and meet new people.
GNOSC also plans to have biweekly get-togethers that will include Lunch Bunch, hiking, snorkeling, and sightseeing, themed monthly meetings, and other seasonal events.
I look forward to personally meeting each of you. Our General Membership Meetings (which will be held every 2nd Tuesday of the month, please check our website) are open to all current and prospective members. Please feel free to pass the word to new officers or GS-9 and above spouses.
